Israel & Germany
In Search of Collective Dreams
Book Design
When I arrived to Berlin as an exchange student, an Israeli friend told me that she had dreamed that she was in the Holocaust, married to a Nazi officer.
I asked other Israelis if they had a dream about the Holocaust and I was amazed by the amount of dreams I received. I realized that this is a national obsession.
At the same time, I also asked young Germans. Collecting my age group's dreams of World War II made me ask questions about collective memory and education.
This book contains dreams of young people aged 20-30, Israelis and Germans, about World War II, and interviews with an Israeli history teacher and a German history teacher.

This project was made during my exchange semester at the Universität der Künste, Berlin.
